There’s been some interest in Dungeons and Dragons (the nerdliest of all nerdy endeavours) recently, so I figure, let’s do this.
Here’s the basic deal: I don’t mind DMing, so I’ll take on the reigns of that position. I’m completely new to 4th edition, as is I believe everyone else. That puts everyone on roughly equal footing with game mechanics, so if you’re interested in giving it a whirl, I’ll try and explain the basics later on here.
In terms of the game itself, I have a module all set up and ready to go, as well as all the appropriate other stuff that is necessary or just recommended to play the game. As working adults with social lives and various other responsibilities, I don’t necessarily foresee doing a weekly thing unless there’s an overwhelming demand to have a schedule like that. Probably something more like every couple of weeks is more realistic, but that’s the kind of logistical stuff that can be figured out once other things are hammered down. As far as location goes, I know my brother has his house and space available on weekends, which is in Ashburn. Depending who all wants to play, and what space is available, we might be able to set up an alternating location type thing as well, to keep travel times more equivalent for everyone.
Anyhow, if you’re interested in playing, here are some basic introductions to the fluff and the mechanics of the game.
If you want to play, send me an e-mail or hit me up on IRC and let me know. Alternately, make an account on this site (it’s free and takes four seconds) and I’ll add you to the group so we can get some comments going to try and figure out when/where works best for everyone.
So far, interested parties include:
